Javier Ruibal

At Terraza 7 we’ll have the great honor of having self-taught composer, arranger, guitarist and singer Javier Ruibal back home, an innovative of the musical and poetical language who has directly influenced part of the “Nueva música flamenca.” His music and texts are cautiously written which is something characteristic of him as well as his guitar execution, which is full of personality and force. The qualities of his voice allow him to fully express with freedom the sonorities of flamenco, the music from Magreb, India and the Caribbean. Ruibal has composed music for several other Spanish artists and famous singers such as Ana Belén and David Broza, among others, and who have sung his compositions. He also appeared on stage together with artists such as Pablo Milanés, Joaquín Sabina and Carlos Cano. In 2007, he was awarded the Medal of Andalusia by the autonomous government of Andalusia.
