About Anita Donndorff & Federico Diaz Duo:
Singer Anita Donddorff and guitarist Federico Díaz recently met in New York City and discovered a unique way to recreate and explore the music of their homeland, Argentina, as well as some boleros and folkloric gems from other Latin American countries. Anita’s jazz-sounding voice, Federico’s refined guitar sound, as well as the unmistakable South American flavor, are the main elements of their vibrant versions
About Anita Donndorff:
Argentinian vocalist Anita Dondorff, one of the most influential jazz artists in her native Buenos Aires, moved to New York in 2023. She has collaborated with award-winning artists such as Ed Cherry, Benny Benack, Paul Sikivie, Héctor Martignon, Hernán Jacinto or Juan Cruz de Urquiza. In 2020 she released her first album, "You Invade All My Dreams", with pianist Dante Picca. The album includes some classics from the Great American Songbook, along with compositions and arrangements of her own. She then released three singles 2021, which are new versions of classic Boleros, acknowledging her Latin roots and showing her versatility. Later this year she will be releasing her new album "Thirsty Soul", which also includes both old standards and Anita's compositions, in a crossover between the refined sound of jazz tradition and a current and Latin approach.
About Federico Diaz:
Born in Mendoza, Argentina, Federico Díaz is a NYC-based musician with a multifaceted career as a performing artist, arranger, and composer. With a special focus on tango, Argentine folklore, and chamber music, Federico has collaborated with renowned artists such as Philippe Quint, Lionel Cottet, Juan Falú, Daniel Binelli, Paquito D’Rivera, Leo Genovese, Marcelo Woloski, Sofía Ribeiro, Rodrigo Bauza, Martin Sued, Pedro Rossi, Silvia Iriondo, Bruno Cavallaro, as he moves with versatility through the universes of classical and popular music. Federico's performances take him regularly to renowned festivals and concert halls across North America, Latin America, and Europe, such as Lincoln Center (New York), Irvine Barclay Theatre (Los Angeles), Teatro Solis (Montevideo), Festival Guitarras del Mundo (Argentina), Laeiszhalle (Hamburg), and Solitâr (Salzburg). In addition to his live performances, Federico is also a sought-after studio musician, recording in a wide variety of projects for labels such as Sony Classical, Epsa Music and collaborating with artists such as Nora Buschmann, Sol Liebeskind, Pablo Lanouguere, Juana Luna, Emilio Teubal, Rodrigo Aranjuelo, Emiliano Messiez, and Pablo Woiz, among others.
