He is renowned for his mastery of the Portuguese guitar and has received significant accolades in the realm of Fado music, including the 2019 Best Fado Album and the 2022 Best Fado Performance at the International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMAs). His experience includes performances in Lisbon’s esteemed Fado houses and collaborations with notable artists such as Ricardo Ribeiro and Pedro Moutinho. Now residing in the United States, Cordeone plays a crucial role in promoting and teaching this musical genre through his Mirelo School of Music, while exploring diverse genres, including punk rock.

About The Arrebol Quartet:

Originally the Trio Arrebol, The Arrebol Quartet has evolved from its origins as a lively Forró band, a genre that epitomizes the music of Brazil’s Northeast and incorporates influences from Native Indian, African, and Portuguese cultures. Characterized by soulful accordion melodies, the rhythmic drive of the zabumba, and the jingling triangle, the quartet has expanded the traditional trio setup by including instruments like the bass, violin, and sax. They celebrate Forró legends such as Luiz Gonzaga and Jackson Do Pandeiro, while also introducing original compositions by Cordeone that blend international styles like jazz, reggae, and pop. This blend allows their music to transcend cultural boundaries, engaging a global audience and celebrating the universal joy of music and dance.
