About Dan Neville:
Award-winning NYC-based vibraphonist Dan Neville boasts an illustrious career spanning the U.S., Europe, and South America. Originating from Sonoma as a guitarist, he transitioned to vibraphone in 2012, enriching San Francisco's music scene by collaborating with local legends and spearheading the salsa band Nuevo Cani. Absorbing Afro Cuban music, he studied with renowned artists like Rebeca Mauleon and John Santos.
A California Jazz Conservatory scholarship recipient (2014-2019), Dan toured Europe with the college's leading ensemble and released his debut album "Tenerife" in 2017, earning accolades from international critics. Victorious in the 2017 Jazz Search West competition, he showcased his talent on NBC’s Today Show in 2019.
Post-graduation, Dan immersed himself in Cali, Colombia's vibrant music scene in 2020, studying under marimba maestro Diego Obregón and fostering connections leading to festival appearances and a feature in the upcoming documentary "Viaje de La Marimba."
Relocating to NYC in 2021, he joined William Paterson University's acclaimed jazz program, studying with luminaries like Bill Charlap and performing alongside jazz stalwarts. A pillar in Queens' Terraza 7 community, Dan is an integral member of the Colombian fusion ensemble “La Balsa De Fuego” and produced the chart-topping album "La Voz del Mar" in 2022. Currently, he's aligned with Patois Records and Latin Jazz icon Wayne Wallace.
