About Daniella Barbarito:
Daniella Barbarito, a multidisciplinary and self-taught artist, offers a curious exploration of her own folklore, shaped by migration and the absurdities of modernity. Her work juxtaposes the traditional and the strange in a playful, sometimes childlike space that is always tinged with a touch of melancholy and delirium.
The cuatro, with its unique tuning, frames the sound of this project, accompanied by an anachronistic voice rooted in classical choral training, resembling the flickering flame of a candle. Psychedelic arrangements and rhythmic tensions reveal the characteristic richness of Caribbean music and its stimulating syncretism.
