"Elvira y la TriEtnia" infuses Latin POP and Rock with diverse elements from Colombian folklore. Drawing primarily from indigenous rhythms of the Caribbean coast, such as sones de negros, cumbia, bullerengue, chandé, gaita, fandango, porro, and merecumbé among other popular Caribbean sounds. In doing so, it represents the tri-ethnicity that defines her as a global woman.
About Elvira Bustamente:
Elvira Bustamante Fuentes is an artist and instructor of Colombian folk and popular dances. A seasoned dancer and singer with a Master's in Arts Education, Bustamante boasts over 20 years of teaching and directing experience. She lends her vocal talents to the musical group "Elvira y la TriEtnia" founded in Barranquilla and sings for the Mexican-Colombian fusion band "Guachinangos" in New York City. Additionally, she showcases her dance skills at the Karla Flores School of Dance.
