About Holman Alvarez:
Holman Alvarez grew up in Cali, Colombia, where he studied piano and composition. He later lived in Buenos Aires for nearly four years, engaging with and learning from the vibrant jazz scene at the time. In 2010, he moved to Bogotá, where he further developed his music career, playing jazz and improvised music with local musicians such as Jorge Sepúlveda, Gina Savino, and Antonio Arnedo, among others. Alvarez has released five albums as a leader and has contributed to several other recordings as a sideman. In addition to his performance career, he composes music for films and chamber ensembles. Alvarez also spent approximately 11 years teaching at Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá.
