About Natalia Bernal:
Born in the scenic Iquique, Chile, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Atacama Desert, Natalia Bernal now graces New York City's music scene. Her voice captures her homeland's dramatic beauty, reflecting a background rich in Latin American folklore and tangos from her Uruguayan lineage. Passionate about her art, Natalia explored the American classics, drawing inspiration from icons like Streisand and Bassey.
Her musical foundation was laid at Santiago's Escuela Moderna de Música and was further honed at Berklee College of Music in Boston. At Berklee, she championed the “Latin Culture Celebration” series, collaborating with jazz and Latin greats such as Danilo Perez and Gloria Estefan.
Now a staple in NYC's music circuit, her evocative voice and songwriting draw musicians and fans alike. A pivotal moment came in 2010 with "La Voz de Tres," her collaboration with pianist Mike Eckroth and guitarist Jason Ennis. This album melds Natalia's compositions with tunes from Brazil, Cuba, and the U.S., bridging North and South American musical traditions.
