About Nostalgia:
Nostalgia is formed by musicians who share a passion for connecting with people by evoking emotions of the past. Their music is inspired in traditional boleros from the 40s to the 60s, known for its melancholia and romantic lyrics, which have long been Latin American’s ultimate expression of love and suffering, and have a rare multi-generational appeal. Along with the upbeat son and waltz, they recreate the musical landscape of that time, as well as innovating with original and contemporary compositions. These Chilean players, with bandleader multi-instrumentalist Benjamín Schnake singing and on the requinto, a small traditional guitar of música criolla, along guitar player and deep singer Franco Valdés, and with Fabio Puentes on the fiery percussions, they’ve founded the band in 2022, and with their last addition of Puerto Rican bass player Dan Martinez during 2023, they have become part of the New York local music scene, where they perform regularly in such places as Barbès in Brooklyn, and Terraza 7 in Queens. Nostalgia plans to release their first single recording titled “Mi Gran Pasión” on Cinco de Mayo, May 5, 2024.
