About Humberto Pernett:

Pernett, a Colombian singer, producer, and composer, blends traditional and modern rhythms to create a unique sound that reflects the country’s diverse cultural heritage. Since launching his solo career in 2003, he has released several acclaimed albums and collaborated with artists like Quantic, Phil Manzanera, and Calle 13. His music fuses cumbia, champeta, reggae, and electronic elements, drawing from traditional Colombian instruments such as maracas, drums, and the gaita.

Notable collaborations include working with legendary rock producer Phil Manzanera on “Tengo Cada Día,” featuring Manzanera’s signature guitars over a tropical rock base, and with Colombian electro-tropical DJ Dani Boom on “Amor Profundo,” a track that merges electronic beats with traditional rhythms. Pernett’s live performances are energetic and engaging, combining live instrumentation, electronic beats, and visual projections to create an immersive experience. He has performed at major festivals and venues worldwide, including SXSW, Sukiyaki Meets The World, and the Barcelona Forum.
