About Rebolu:
On REBOLU’s electrifying new single “La sorpresa (The Surprise),” the Queens-based Latin-funk ensemble mixes modern instrumentation with the high-energy rhythmic traditions of Colombia’s Caribbean coast to compose a soul-stirring display of percussion, horns, and call-and-response singing. One of the most danceable tunes in their live repertoire, the song never fails to get a crowd on their feet.
With some of the finest Colombian musicians in the United States, Ronald Polo(vocalist/composer/gaitero) and Morris Cañate (master folkloric percussionist) and Johana Castañeda join their talents to lead an ensemble rich of musical traditions of their ancestors; the afro-descendants of Colombia’s Caribbean coast. With the strong mesmerizing beats, this music goes into your system like a dose of pure, sincere, and contagious energy! Terraza literally catches in flames when Rebolú is on stage. Join us this Saturday for a fantastic time!
